Hi there!  We don’t usually send forwards, but this is a letter we
recently received from a friend at our church (he sends out a letter
every Wed.).  Our friend, Brek, suffers from Lou Gerick’s disease and
is confined to a wheelchair.  He has a feeding tube and can only move
his eyes and one knee very slightly.  He uses his knee to type,
although we’re not sure how it works, but we know it takes him a long
time!  Anyway, he and his wife are absolute trophies of God’s grace!
We thought you might appreciate, or at least be challenged, by hearing
his take on the Terri Schiavo situation.

Greetings family friends and.???????

I feel that I must say something about the Terri Schiavo dilemma
because I am in a similar situation to her… I can’t feed myself..  I
can’t bathe myself..  I can’t walk or move anywhere by myself..  I
can’t go to the bathroom by myself..  I can’t speak..  ALL of my food,
medicine and liquids comes through my feeding tube.

Feeding tubes are rather simple.  Mine is about the diameter of a
pencil with an inflatable balloon at one end and a removable cap at
the other end.  Changing it is painless and takes about 2 minutes.
Simply deflate the balloon that is in the stomach, slide it out, slide
a new one in, inflate the balloon and I am ready for a Big Mac, Fries
and a Coke.!

She isn’t being kept alive by a machine..  She recognizes her family..
She shows emotions..  She feels pain..  She is not in a comma..  She
is not a vegetable or anywhere close to it.  [Check out the website at

Does Terri’s husband really have her best interest in mind??...  I am
glad that Kim hasn’t been living with another man for the past 10
years, has two children from him and is determined to starve and
dehydrate me to death.  How merciful and painful is that?  No one
would treat an animal that way, so why Terri?

This situation is exactly why the debate surrounding Creation vs
Evolution is so relevant and important.

If Creation is true… Then you, I, Terri’s husband, the state of
Florida, judges, all have an obligation to the Creator God to follow
God’s Moral laws which are set forth in the Bible.  But…..  If
Evolution is true… Then you, I, Terri’s husband, are just the highest
species of animals and as such we are not obligated to anyone and our
Moral laws are subject to whatever we deem relevant at the time.

At times I have felt worthless,, I have felt useless,, I have felt
like a drain on society and an extreme burden to Kim and my family,,
wishing that I could just check out and die.

And as just an animal that seems quite reasonable but as a human being
created in the image of God,, I have great worth,, I am useful,, I
have purpose,, I am valuable,, and so is Terri Schiavo.  So much so
that God Himself, Jesus Christ went to the cross and died for ME and
YOU that we might have real life in Jesus through His RESURRECTION
from the dead.!

The tomb is Empty!!!   Christ Jesus is RISEN.!!!   He is RISEN
indeed.!!!

If we remain silent all ‘’ Matter ‘’ will Cry Out.!!!  What will you
do?  Will you cry out praises to Jesus?

Luke 19:  37 The whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to
praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
38   "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"   39  Some of the
Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your
disciples!"  40  "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet,
