The event was a concert by the Seekers Of His Grace gospel band, in which I, Dan Martin, played guitar. That cassette recording is digitized and archived at this link (all rights reserved): https://www.dansher.com/audio/band/Amber_Dream.mp3 The opening song, Amber Dream, was in rememberance of and dedicated to my musician son Scott Robert Martin, eldest of my four sons. A car accident had taken Scott's life on 10/09/1983. Lyrics to Amber Dream were sung by the late Dwight Tomes, who also played guitar. Dwight passed away in May of 2023 after a long illness. His wife Connie Tomes also sang harmony and played piano on Amber Dream. Male vocal harmony was sung by the late Tom Downey who had preceeded Dwight in death some years before. Lyrics to Amber Dream were written by me using many of the words and phrases (apparently written by Scott) upon papers that I (Dan) found at daybreak the same day, scattered about the scene of the accident. With Scott's spiritual help, I composed the chords, melody, and additional lyrics to Amber Dream. It will be a blessing every time Amber Dream is performed by a live band again - your's perhaps? Maybe it will launch someone, somewhere - you? - into the journey of accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Hopefully someone (Scott's brother Steven?) will record Amber Dream anew, using modern instrumentation, percussion, and vocal harmonies. Listen again to Amber Dream, please, and say a thankful prayer for Scott Martin, Dwight Tomes, and Tom Downey now playing in The Night Shift band: https://www.dansher.com/audio/band/Amber_Dream.mp3 You can learn more about Scott's life at this link: https://www.dansher.com/banddays.htm#-SCOTT- I like to think that Amber Dream describes that final moment when Scott. Dwight, and Tom first met Jesus - face to face - "Gentle Beauty filled the air around you..." Let me hear your thoughts: dan@dansher.com EOF
