Hello Dale, I really appreciate the information you are sending me and I need all the help and insight I can get. But there's a but.... I have several acquaintences that seem to have an irrational hatred for anything that is not congruent with their world view. You may be one of them. After a round of name calling and stereotyping, they invariably dismiss my views as being merely the soiled, osmotic residue from the likes of Fox News, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Republicans in general. With all of these "tainted" icons my liberal "friends" disagree out-of-hand. Claiming that my only thoughts are cloned from those they hate, everything I say - obviously a mindless parrot - is to be scorned. The first reaction of these folks is always to deflect and dismiss what I have said - generally ignoring my main poits completely. Then they drag out the ultimate red herring, "Bush did it," as if that alone was ample logic for halting all further discussion. No matter who says it, I deeply resent the implication that I have no mind or opinions of my own and that only some dull Borg-like (hive) intelligence dwells between my ears. My IQ is 139 and while that surely does not approach the IQs of my liberal detractors, it should at least confer upon me the possibility of having an occasional original thought, or of taking a position through independent evaluation. Should any of these be seen as similar to those purveyed by other persons or groups deserving of scorn then so be it. Please give me the respect of scorning me & my views in their own right. I can tell you two things that are scorn-proof: - The Republic and its citizens will be reliably served if the US Constitution is honored by its lawmakers. I do not care what party, ideology, or religion they are. - In our lifetime the Earth will not die of Global Anything. In the Darwinian dimension (yours), all life is a cosmic accident and mankind is only a highly evolved ape. No matter how infinitesimal the odds, all the various "ists" of the Darwin, Athe, Scient, Social, and Commun cliques demand absolute faith in, and utter fealty to, their harsh and unlikely universe. If there is no God, there is no good or bad, and therefore neither Heaven or Hell. If all the "ists" are correct, then there is NO logical reason to care if the planet is ravaged and/or mankind exterminates itself. Save The Planet ?? For what; for whom? Where is the loss? Will the whales really care about us after we're gone... - or we about them? We're all gonna die anyway. If your views are correct then I have lost nothing for having faith in mine. My "reward" is exactly the same as yours. Be you its highest disciple, your faith can gain you only oblivion - nothing more - and it can condemn me to only the same. If I am right, then Jesus will return again and restore both the planet and our worthiness to worship at the foot of God. This is not the Gaia gods of the trees & streams, or the 'god-in-us' of new-age claim, but the one Creator God; the God of Abraham and the Holy Bible. It does not matter if the ice caps melt and the oceans rise until He returns. Saved souls get a new earth for free, and Heaven to boot. For those left behind, the Apocalypse (followed by an Eternity in Hell) will be far worse than anything imaginable - even by the fertile mind of Al Gore. Dan
